Chennai July 10th, 2009 The opening ceremony of the First Syed Ahmed Memorial Hockey Tournament. The Chief Guest of the evening was Mr. Kishore Reddy, Chief Executive, K.K. Apparels Pvt. Ltd. Olympian Mr. N.Md. Riaz presided. It was followed by the First Opening Match of the Tournament between The Hindu and the Chepauk Youngsters.

The Tournament will be held from 10th to 19th Jul 2009 at SDAT, Mayor Radhakrishnan Stadium, Egmore, Chennai. District level teams will be participating in this tournament.
This tournament is being conducted in memory of Late Syed Ahmed who represented the TamilNadu state team in the period between 1955 and 1965 as an ace centre forward. [...]
