Two-day conference on ‘Future Force Sapper’

Bangalore, Lieutenant General Noble Thamburaj, Vice Chief of the Army Staff will be the Chief Guest at a seminar on ‘Future Force Sapper’ on July 9 and 10.
The main objective of the seminar would be reviewing emerging technologies, employment concepts and organizational structure to enable shaping Combat Engineers into a modern, optimally equipped and structured force for carrying out all roles assigned to it in the entire spectrum of conflict, according to a release from PIB (Defence Wing) here today.
Eminent speakers at the seminar include former Ambassador of India to China and France C V Ranganathan, Lieutenant General Gautam Dutt, Engineer-in- Chief of the Indian Army, Major General S S Sengupta, Chief Engineer, Southern Command, Scientists and Directors from Defence Research and Development Establishments and representatives of private industry.
The seminar aims to provide an excellent opportunity for interaction between Indian army engineers, DRDO and the private Sector, where-in Indian Army Engineers can project the long term perspective and technological requirement of combat engineers, while the industry can project the matching capability and take note of research and development.
The corps of engineers personnel also known as ‘SAPPERS’ are involved in nation building and disaster management. The forum would also be addressing these issues in keeping with the changing times.
