TN CM orders creation of 4,000 seats in hostels

Chennai, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi today ordered creation of 4,000 additional seats in hostels run by the state government for students of backward class, most backward and denotified communities, involving an outlay of Rs 2.21 crore.
The state government is running 1200 hostels all over the state for the benefit of more than 69,000 students, who were studying in various schools and colleges.
To benefit more students, the Chief Minister ordered creation of 2400 seats in hostels for school students and 1600 seats in hostels for college students in the state, an official release here said.
