Bhopal, Cloudy weather not only played a spoilsport but also disappointed umpteen of ardent stargazers who gathered at wee hours here today on the streets to view the 21st century’s longest total solar eclipse.

Bhopal was marked as one of the place where solar eclipse was visible for longer time, but thick clouds covered the much-awaited celestial view and disappointed the common man and scientists as well.

The eclipse began at 0622 hrs and continued to till 0625 hrs, however, clouds that covered the sky started disappearsing gradually at 0930 hrs but till then the most significant panorama of total eclipse had passed.

Denizens of Sidhi district were fortunate enough as they witnessed the rare eclipse, thands to the clear sky.

”At the time of total eclipse the ambience changed into of night and even stars were visible,” said Government College Physics Professor Manmohan Singh Tiwari.

Regional Science Centre’s Coordinator Prabal Rai told UNI that the eclipse was not clearly visible in entire Madhya Pradesh and in the state capital, and rains in early morning vanished all the hopes of people to witness the celestial view.
