CM inaugurates Police administrative building in Shillong

Shillong, Meghalaya Chief Minister DD Lapang formally inaugurated the new administrative building of Shillong Police Reserve here yesterday.
In his inaugural speech Mr Lapang said that the Shillong Police reserve is one of the oldest and the largest police reserve in the Northeast housing 355 family quarters, the armed branch, magazine branch, quarter master branch, motor transport branch, drill shed and gymnasium.
The reserve premises also has a parade ground, unit school, unit welfare gas agency, canteen and unit hospital, Mr Lapang said.
Mr Lapang hoped that with the inauguration of the new building, it will cater to the administration of the facilities, manpower management and a host of other works associated with maintaining of the law and order situation.
Local MLA AL Hek, Chief Secretary R Chatterjee, DGP A Pradhan also attended the inaugural function among others.
