Cloud eclipses solar eclipse, throws spanners on viewing the event

Taregana, The hovering cloud threw spanner on the quest of scientists and common men who thronged here to have glimpses of the longest Total Solar Eclipse of the century, a rare celestial event which would now happen only after 123 years.
Scientists from across the world had congregated here with their sophisticated equipments to view the rare celestial event but clouds played spoilsport on their efforts.
The place was identified as the most suitable spot for the observation of the Total Solar Eclipse as its duration calculated to be longer, but dreams of the scientists remained unfulfilled.
Apart from the experts and intellectuals, people from all walks of life took pain to arrive Taregana in the early morning as they were seen moving for destinations with great zeal to view the rare celestial event.
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi and senior officials of the state government had arrived well before the time to viwe the solar eclipse.
The sleeply hamlet, about 30 kms from state capital, came alive as thousands of people of and around the locality were on brisk walking to reach the place near Referral Hospital, where arrangements were made to view the rare celestial event.
Visibly disappointed on clouds playing spoilsport in viewing the celestial event, Mr Kumar said that darkness for few minutes due to the Total Solar Eclipse was a life time experience for him and others who had arrived here on the occasion.
He said philosophically that it was also a lesson of life as good times prevails after the agony of darkness.
”As the darkness disappeared in few minutes after the Total Solar Eclipse, the dark phase of Bihar would also come to an end and the state would usher in a new era of development and prosperity,” he said.
Mr Kumar also announced that Taregana, where great astronomer Aryabhatt used to gaze the stars and propounded several scientific theory, would be developed.
”Another spot Khagaul, the birth place of the great astronomer would also be developed and steps would be taken to keep his memory afresh,” he added.
