Cases registered against ration shop salesmen

Puducherry, Puducherry food cell police today registered cases against salesmen of five ration shops here for alleged irregularities.

According to police, the salesmen allegiedly misappropriated the rice meant for Below Poverty Line(BPL) people.

While it was marked in the register that rice had been issued to the card holder, there was no entry in their ration cards.
