IBAPWO to search talents in Indo-Myanmar border

Kohima, The International Border Area Peoples’ Welfare Organisation (IBAPWO), under the banner of ‘IBAPWO Craft Centre’, will undertake a survey to tap the hidden talents along the Indo-Myanmar border areas of Nagaland.

In a statement here today the Director of IBAPWO said that a team of the organisation would tour to undertake baseline survey to tap the talented artisans of the village bordering Myanmar in all the seven blocks under Tuensang, Mon, Phek and Kiphire districts of Nagaland.

During the tour, the team will interact with artisans, who are skilled at their craftswork, besides ventilating the grievances and problems faced by them in the social and economic sphere.

During the interaction, the team will chalk out and register the respective names of the artisans and assist them with proper guidance to boost their activities.

They will also market their homemade finished products to uplift their living standard.

A six-member team of IBAPWO, headed by its Programme Manager H C Matthew, will cover 139 villages under seven blocks of Phomching, Chen, Tobu, Noklak, Thonoknyu, Pungro and Meluri under Mon, Tuensang, Phek and Kiphire districts from June 15, the statement said.
