Agartala, The Health and Family Welfare Ministry has agreed to fund homeopathy tele-medicine centre in rural areas of Tripura under Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy (AYUSH) in the current fiscal.
Official sources here today said the Centre had sanctioned the homeopathy telemedicine project initially for three poverty infested revenue blocks - Mandai, Mohanpur and Kathalia and the facility would be extended with the success of the project.
The telemedicine service would work mainly over Internet and doctors could seek clarifications from the experts. Once the treatment strategy is being decided, a small kit of medicines will be provided to the patient, officials said.
The kit will contain most of the medicines that the patient might need to deal with during emergencies or specific conditions that may arise in the course of the treatment - like pain, bleeding etc.
As soon as the patient receives the medicines, instructions for using the same will be provided by e-mail.
