Tamil film industry on cloud nine

Chennai, The entire Tamil film industry is on cloud nine with Rahman’s ‘double delight’ at the Academy Awards night.
Renowed Director K Balachander said his prophecy Rahman would go places had come true.
”When Mani Ratnam introduced Rahman to me while composing (music) for ”Roja,” I was impressed with the young lad. I predicted then that he would go places. My prophecy has come true today.” ”He is humble and dedicated to his profession and is very keen to improve upon his work. His determination to be original in his compositions has taken him to such great heights,” the veteran director said.
”I was glued to the TV set watching the presentation ceremony since morning and my joy knew no bounds when Rahman was announced the winner,” he adds.
Thespian Kamal Hassan lauded Rahman in equal measure saying he had gone several miles ahead.
”I heartily congratulate him. He has got a set of very good directors and skilled technicians to work with.” Kamal said ”my next film with Rahman will be a good soundtrack.
The best is yet to come from the music wizard and hopefully our next venture will fulfil it.
”Among his songs, I admire the numbers in ”Rang De Basanti” and ”Jodha Akbar,”” he said.
Popular Comedian Vivek said Rahman had made every Indian proud.
By speaking in Tamil at the Academy Awards ceremony, he had brought glory to our mother tongue.
”At a time when Tamils are being killed in one part of the globe, it is comforting that a Tamilian has won international acclaim.” Tamil Film Producers Council President Ramnarayanan hailed the achievement of Rahman and said a mega function would be held early next month in the city to felicitate him.
Actor Sarath Kumar described the twin oscars won by Rahman as ”another gem in Rahman’s crown.” ”He has done every Indian proud.It is the greatest achievement and a proud honour for Tamil cinema.” ”Congrats Rahman. Jai Ho….keep up the good work,” that’s how Actor S J Suryah expressed hiself on Rahman’s feat.
